COBURG - From the X-Files to the Blair Witch Project, ghost stories are spooktacular. Now, there's a local group moving it to the next level.
Skeptics, believers and those in between - meet the "Ghostseekers." Team members include a local family that hunts the haunted. "It's cool to get pictures and to prove to everybody that it's real," says member Dominic Rosso.
Their hobby was triggered after an encounter organizer Deborah says she had with her brother only to find he had died earlier that day. Since then, they've been investigating homes, businesses, even bridges across Oregon. "If I find other ghosts and other things then I know I actually talked to him," says Deborah.
And Thursday's paranormal prospect? The Coburg Cemetery. The group descended with voice recorders, temperature gauge, and sixth sense in tow.
Plus, some of the strongest evidence ghosts exist comes with the click of a camera. These photos were taken by the team and were convincing enough to make the pages of the book, "Ghosts Coast to Coast."
Jeffrey Rosso is the photog at this grave site. "I had a few spots over in here and mostly right here where my camera would just shut off," he says.
Still, studies show two-thirds of you out there would say this hunt is a bust but the Ghostseekers remain convinced it's the believers who become the see-ers.
The Ghostseekers also have a Myspace page where they track some of their favorite findings.
