Blinded by a Good Cause? Paranormalist Performs Extreme Walk through Bear Traps for a Bridgeview, IL. Fundraiser June 23rd
"Paranormalist", Scott Xavier challenges the limits of the human body with an extreme blindfolded walk through razor sharp animal traps for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Charity Event in Bridgeview, Illinois.
Chicago, IL, June 01, 2006 --(PR.COM)-- Scott Xavier premieres a new paranormal stunt to generate awareness for the American Cancer Societies: Relay for Life charity event. While 2 standard U.S. silver dollars are crammed into his eye sockets, 6 feet of industrial grade duct tape on top this seals up any possible light leakage, and then blindfolded upon all that with a heavy travel sleeping mask Scott Xavier sets out to navigate a twelve foot long obstacle course. This obstacle course isn?t for the timid. Even with conventional sight, this course is extremely dangerous as it is filled with razor sharp animal traps!
Once used by hunters to entrap medium sized game, these traps have been primarily phased out of use as the general concensus is that they are inhumane. With over 200 lbs. of pressure being released upon its prey, the jaws of these traps maim and mangle the leg of it?s innocent victim.
Scott Xavier is an inventor, author, illusionist, and self proclaimed paranormalist who has worked on various other publicity stunts, but admits this is his most dangerous. ?Until you walk blindfolded, you never really realize how dependent your sight is for balance and equilibrium. Everyone I know thinks I am crazy for doing this?? Scott admits. Mr. Xavier has been training for the past 2 months to heighten his senses as well as focus what he calls a ?Kinesi-Optic? sixth sense which will hopefully allow him to detect the dangerous animal traps.
This is a chance for mainstream skeptics to see real psychic phenomena mere feet from their faces. ALL the props, including the props, will be tested by a hyper-critical committee to ensure everything is of ?upstanding? origin. And, if everything goes well with this ?Passage of Pain? event, Scott Xavier plans to perform a few of the effects from his theater show ?PARANORMAL: An intimate night with the unknown?? for the onlookers.
Some of the effects will deal with telepathy, telekinetic metal bending, mind over matters, precognition, and of course ESP. People can visit ScottXavier.com and watch some of the ?AMAZING? effects Scott has performed: including a blindfold drive, straight jacket escape on broken glass, and even his signature effect the telekinetic fork bending.
Also on hand for the June 23rd event, will be Mr. Xavier?s camera crew who will be shooting for his TV pilot which is being held in complete secrecy.
Scott admits that this event was inspired by two of his personal heroes, David Blaine and Uri Geller. When not performing these death defying stunts, Scott Xavier can be seen touring college campuses entertaining and lecturing on the powers of the mind, body, and soul.
