RIDLEY TOWNSHIP -- As we glide into the new year, psychic counselor "Jeanann" has unveiled her predictions for 2007, starting with a question about Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner. "Is he feeling ok?" Jeanann mused, adding that there will be news in 2007 around 81-year old Hefner.
And with the speculation swirling around a possible presidential bid by New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, Jeanann predicts that there will be more information made public about Clinton?s personal life. Also in the news will be that newsman himself, Walter Cronkite, former talk show hostess Sally Jesse Raphael and the Long Island Lolita, Amy Fisher. Barbara Walters will probably be making news in 2007 instead of reporting it.
"China will have a breakthrough, either medical or archeological," Jeanann said, adding that there will be more prehistoric data available from the Netherlands.
Also in 2007, Jeanann sees news centered around Spain, the territorial rightsrecognized involving a small country, and former President George H.W. Bush.
"Mrs. Barbara Bush need to be careful with injuring a leg or a foot," she cautions.
Locally, Jeanann predicts more flooding around Delaware County and an increase in activity at the former Navy Yard in Philadelphia "with business and military ships returning." There will be more activity on the waterways in the area and possibly, more openings of marinas. "How wonderful for business," she said.
Gov. Ed Rendell will be asked to take on a new role in government that will be a feather in his cap, and there will be more announcements of local political upheavals over the next three years.
"The tax structure for the area will not be as it was planned to be," Jeanann said. "Many people will be upset and (there will be a) possible investigation."
There will be a new program going into effect in 2007 designed to reduce school-tax bills but it will require residential property owners to approve an earned income tax to replace the funds from lower property taxes. Jeanann sees increased train problems, including derailments and malfunctions due to negligence by the railway system, but she has a vision for Boeing and asks "is Boeing in Delaware County thinking about a new project, or adding on to its existing location?"
"This is certainly a plus for everyone," she said.
The Philadelphia-born psychic has been having her predictions for the upcoming years notarized at the end of December for more than 30 years. In 2002 she predicted that then-Delaware County President Judge Joseph Battle would make changes in his personal life. The jurist died later that year. She predicted the closing of a major department store chain (Strawbridge and Clothier). And for Pamela Anderson, last year Jeanann predicted something good would be coming her way. And it did -- the blond television star was married last summer to rock star Kid Rock. Alas, the marriage lasted only three months.
Jeanann, who uses only her first name, began dabbling with psychic phenomenon in 1973. She said any extraordinary talents she has can be traced back to her great-grandmother, who lived in California and gave tarot card readings.
