WOMEN who walk through walls and unspeakable blobs that fall from trees are just some of the ghost stories set to scare theatre-goers this Spring.
Greenwich Theatre is presenting The Turn of the Screw, Frankenstein and Shining City in an unsettling series starting on Tuesday.
The bravest audience members can get themselves in a spooky mood before the performances start by taking an hour-long ghost walk around central Greenwich.
Groups, led by Greenwich Tour Guides Association, will stop off by landmarks where bumps in the night once occurred - and possibly still do.
The tours, which will vary to suit each performance, are based around historically documented incidents, reassured tour leader Gill Cooper.
She said: "I have never seen a ghost, but I have experienced feeling cold all of a sudden.
"We've been to Charlton House with groups searching for paranormal activity before."
The ghost stories stretch back to the days of playboy King Henry VIII, and feature the sorry tales of sailors, admirals, anarchists and ghost hunters.
Each walk starts and ends at the theatre in Crooms Hill, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a Victorian woman.
The walks include stories about royalty haunting the remains of Greenwich's Tudor palace and the ghost of a disgraced admiral knocking about the Old Royal Naval College.
They will also be a great way to absorb some little-known history before digging into Greenwich Theatre's chilling performances.
Henry James' psychological ghost-story, The Turn of the Screw, runs from next Tuesday to March 1, with pre-show walks available on Wednesday and Friday.
Frankenstein, based on Mary Shelley's haunting novel, runs from March 28 to April 5, with two tours available on the Thursday and Saturday.
Psychological thriller Shining City opens for five days from April 22 with tours available on the last night on Saturday, April 26.
Combined tickets for the hour-long guided walk, a meal at Greenwich Theatre and one of the productions cost ?30, ?26 concessions.
Times of walks and performances vary and include matinees.
