Two deaths and two illnesses have employees worried
As the seventh season of Dr. Phil is ready to launch on Monday, employees are slightly concerned about an apparent on-set curse.
According to TMZ, in the last few months two employees have passed away ? one from cancer and another (a young intern) from strep throat.
Additionally, the wife of an editor suffered ?a family tragedy? and a producer suffered a concussion and a broken arm while on set.
The online celebrity rag claims the show?s host Phil McGraw held a staff meeting last Friday to boost morale as he tries to retool the show for its new season.
According to a press release from CBS, those retooling efforts include three series: The Ultimate Weight Loss Race, Money Management and Get Real Retreat.
The Ultimate Weight Loss Race will see 12 participants from across the States in a season-long challenge using McGraw?s book The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom as inspiration and motivation to drop the pounds and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
?I want to see a lot less of them in the coming months,? McGraw said in the release, speaking about the contestants? pounds. ?This group is going to inspire people all across America to lose weight.?
Money Management will be an ongoing series on ? what else? ? money management during the tough economic times. A string of experts will guest star as topics like arguing over finances, overspending and how to dig out of a financial hole are discussed.
Last, but not least, The Get Real Retreat will spotlight 14 people whose problems cover anything from alcoholism to sexual addiction to racism.
?I was only the bus driver on this retreat. This was not about their problems, but about their goals and about getting them to a place where they could breathe,? said McGraw.
