A TEENAGER, who blamed a foul-mouthed outburst on a pirate, claimed his bizarre behaviour was sparked by a ghost.
Thomas McGair, 18, was arrested in the garden of a Gourock house last October.
But officers were left stunned by his madcap explanation and a sheriff also admitted she was intrigued by McGair's excuse.
Depute fiscal Hugh Brady told Greenock Sheriff Court: "After he was charged he said: 'It wisnae me, it was the pirate'."
Defence lawyer Andrew Kennedy said: "My client assures me he had taken neither drugs or drink. In fact he was in a state
of agitation because he claims he had just seen a ghost."
McGair, of Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow, admitted committing a breach of the peace. Sentence was deferred.
