He loves experimenting with his roles and in his latest avatar as Bhoot Unkle, Jackie Shroff is all set to be the kids? delight...
Bhoot Unkle sounds like a fun film. Did you enjoy shooting for the film and music video?
Bhoot Unkle has loads of fun in it. I am always amazed by kids who perform with such care-a-hang attitude. The film is a comedy thriller revolving around a little boy and his friends who accidentally resolve a mystery and meet a friendly spirit. It?s a story of their tryst to save their town from the looming danger.
How do you find the experience of working with children?
As I said I have a blast while working with children. I am very fond of kids and never cease to respect them. They have amazing focus and are extremely professional. They put me to shame with their dedication.
Have you seen ghost films? Which are your favourites?
Among the Hindi films, I like Gumnaam, Kohra and Bhoot Bangla and in English, it is The Exorcist.
Have you ever had any errie experience in real life?
I remember when I was a kid, I had gone with my friends to a hill station at night. I was petrified because my pals were ahead of me. I had heard stories of ghosts with long legs sitting on a tree. The vision of dangling legs, ghungroo ki awaaz and a perfume, God I was scared!
What is your equation with your children and what are your plans for them?
I have a very easy equation with my kids, Tiger and Krishna. I believe in giving them a lot of space letting them do what they want. Both my kids are pretty much responsible and sports is their passion.
Besides Bhoot Unkle, you are playing an important role in Mera Dil Leke Dekho. Tell us something about that?
Mera Dil Leke Dekho is an out and out comedy. I have never done a film where I had so much fun whilst shooting and dubbing it, too. This is a new side of me which I never knew existed. Rohit Shetty is a great director.
Please elaborate on your role in Eklavya and Maryada Purshottam?
Right from Parinda, 1942 - A Love Story to Mission Kashmir to Eklavya, Vidhu Vinod Chopra has given me roles that are and will be memorable. In Eklavya, I am playing a Rajput royal. The character has dark shades to it. As for Maryada Purshottam, I have been signed by Sanjay Khansaab and the film should take off next year. I am playing Ravan in that.
Any other films on the anvil?
I have signed Feroze Khansaab?s remake of Qurbani, another film with Himanshu Bhatt and a few more are in the pipeline.
