Missing man is in river says psychic

[Carol]

A psychic remained on hand as police continued their search for a missing Palmerston North man.

A police dive squad searched the Manawatu River for several hours yesterday, but failed to find any trace of James Alexander, 73. Mr Alexander, who suffers from Alzheimer's, went missing from a rest home on Sunday last week.

Sergeant Andy Brooke, of Palmerston North search and rescue, said kayakers would search the river today.

A psychic who helped police find Mr Alexander's personal items on Saturday remained at the riverside yesterday.

"She said he's there, but we haven't been able to find him," Mr Brooke said.
