Does the Behringer-Crawford Museum need Ghostbusters?
Not a chance - the otherworldly inhabitants of the B-C are friendly spirits, assures administrative assistant Kathy Boemker.
For everyone suffering triskaidekaphobia (that's an irrational fear of the number 13, and, by association, Friday the 13th), "Hunting for Haunters: An Investigation into the Paranormal" might be just the ticket.
"Hunting" is part of the 20/20 Festival's celebration of Friday the 13th. The museum staff thought it would be the perfect occasion to find out who some of the inhabitants are.
While Boemker has never bumped into anyone from the other side, "I have had that feeling of somebody looking at me."
There have been sightings by others: Several folks are convinced a woman haunts the upstairs, and word is that museum director Laurie Risch had an encounter some years ago at a Girl Scouts overnight. She woke up to see a gentleman sitting at a desk - but there were no gentleman guests.
Of course there are Civil War soldiers roaming outside.
Enter PINKY - that's Paranormal Investigators of Northern Kentucky. They'll be at the museum today to explain how they investigate, what they look for, some of what they've experienced in their adventures. And then, armed with cameras and sound equipment, investigators will lead small groups on a tour through the rooms of the museum - probably in the dark, Boemker ventures, because what would be the point of turning on the lights?
