She?s reluctant to call it a ?tradition? but Lewiston psychic Amy K says she?s doing more readings for folks heading into the new year.
?I was even considering having New Year?s Eve reading parties,? she said while sitting in the boutique portion of her reading room on Center Street. ?I?m very booked up. After Christmas, the week after Christmas, people seem to come in.?
To take a look forward to 2007, Greater Niagara Newspapers sat down with Amy on Friday afternoon and talked to her about what?s in store for America and the Niagara Region.

QUESTION: What kind of a reading can you do for the coming year?
ANSWER: ?I do offer a different type of reading, it?s called the Wheel of the Year. You put the (Tarot) cards out like a clock with each point on the wheel being a month. That helps to see what the year has ahead, month by month. A reading does not mean something is written in stone. It?s more a reflection of what will happen if you continue to behave the same way you always have. It?s a way of looking over, what season is going to be the trouble one and when should I prepare myself for it.?
G: ?We hear that sometimes business people will consult psychics to prepare for the year ahead.?
A: ?I do deal with doctors, with lawyers, I deal with teachers, people in the health care field, so yes, a lot of professional people do like this sort of thing. They are also drawn toward astrology, which is a little bit more scientific.?
G: ?You said earlier a reading isn?t ?written in stone?, so you?re not guarantying anything particular thing will or won?t happen??
A: ?I?m giving them what options they will have. Every choice creates another cause and effect. So what I?m telling them is what their behavior will bring them and which choices would be better for them. I try to connect with their spirit guide, that?s for their greatest good. That spirit guide has a bird?s eye view of the person and what path would be for their greatest good. So I don?t guarantee what?s going to happen. I don?t think I need to.?
G: ?If you direct your sense toward this region, Western New York, what do you see ahead for us in 2007/?
A: ?First of all, I?m seeing some important improvements in medical technology in the area. We just had the planet Jupiter enter Sagittarius, which is very beneficial to the medical field, for things that seem like miracles occurring. However, I see the cost of health care escalating, so I don?t know if that technology will be available to a lot of people. I do see a lot going on, at the first of the year, with (municipal) budgets) in Buffalo and Western new York. With Saturn being in Leo for the last year and a half, it?s been about digging in, finding what?s wrong and reorganizing, putting in a better structure. That?s what?s going on now. I?m seeing a lot of reconstruction coming in the springtime. There?s going to be an eclipse in the spring which helps to bring a renewed sense, visually, but in the cities, not so much on the waterfronts. I see the waterfronts moving much slower. Late November, I see an emotional need for justice coming up. It has to do with a family and a lot of people will relate to what is occurring and it comes to a tragic end and there will be a need for emotional justice. On Dec. 20, six planets lined up in one sign and we will never see that again in our lifetime. One is Jupiter, one is Pluto and with these two being together, a lot of profound transformations coming this year. I also, unfortunately see, a lot of people moving out of the area because their is just not enough work here to keep things going. I think in 10 years, we?ll start drawing people back to the area.?
G: ?That?s a lot. It sounds like 2007 will not be dull.?
A: ?No, it won?t be dull. Easier than 2006, there have been a lot of emotional stuff going on this year, but next year we?ll deal with that emotional stuff.?
