Popular ghost hunter Derek Acorah will be taking to the stage for a sell-out show at the city's Theatre Royal next month - but he has already made friends with one well-known Norfolk celebrity.
Best known for his work as a medium on television shows such as Most Haunted and The Antiques Ghost Show, Mr Acorah's latest co-presenter is Gorleston's Myleene Klass.
Fresh from her eye-catching appearance on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here?, Myleene worked with Mr Acorah on his new Ghost Towns shows which have been screened on Living TV. In the latest edition of Paranormal Norfolk, brought to you by the publishers of the Evening News, Mr Acorah talks about how much he enjoyed working with the former Hear'Say star.
He said: ?She's a beautiful soul, very upbeat and energised. It's been an absolute pleasure and I hope to work with her on other projects.?
Mr Acorah, who became a medium after his football career, which saw him signed by Liverpool FC at the age of just 13, was ended by injury, said he was looking forward to bringing his tour to Norwich.
He said: ?I love Norwich. When you've got a lot of history in a beautiful place like Norwich, there's going to be a lot more spiritual energy about - both negative and positive.
?I love the live shows. It is more rewarding for me because I get public feedback. I know the fans love the programmes, but to have fans coming to the theatres looking for messages and to see them afterwards. That's the reason why the live shows have a little more space in my heart.
?I've seen a steady climb in interest over the last eight or nine years. I believe it is because people are ready now. People's consciences want to understand.?
Mark Hazell, marketing director at the Theatre Royal, said: ?This is the first time we have had Derek here, but we previously had mediums Colin Fry and Tony Stockwell and they proved enormously popular.
?What is interesting from our point of view is that they do really put on a show and it is a very entertaining night out.?
The grisly tale of Tabernacle Street
Fans of ghost stories are in for a treat in the latest edition of Paranormal Norfolk - with the grisly tale of the Tabernacle Street terror revealed in all its gruesome glory.
Dave Chisnell, who runs ghost walks in the city, tells how people have spotted a figure carrying what looks like a bucket lurking in hedgerow in the street, close to the Adam and Eve pub.
The reason why a spectre might need to carry a bucket is horrific indeed. In 1851 a man called William Sheward killed his wife after a row over money and had to decide how to get rid of her body.
Having killed his wife with a cut-throat razor he decided cutting his unfortunate spouse into smaller pieces would enable him to get rid of her body more easily.
He then decided boiling the bits would make them softer and then began heading out at night with the pieces in a bucket, throwing the body parts around the city.
But the parts, except the head, turned up, Sheward eventually confessed to the crime and was hanged in Norwich.
Mr Acorah will bring his show to Norwich's Theatre Royal on March 7 and although tickets have already sold out, there is always a chance of returns on the night.
