Conference Includes Authors, Medium, Demonologist
EUREKA SPRINGS -- Ghosts and other paranormal phenomenon feel right at home in Northwest Arkansas, communing with spirits from the Trail of Tears and the Civil War battlefields, says Lori Arhangelsky, founder of Northwest Arkansas Ghost Connection.
The local group presents the first Arkansas Ghost Hunters Conference today and Saturday at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. Tickets are $58 at the door.
"It's an educational tool for those who are not familiar with us to learn about what we do," Arhangelsky says. "If they feel they have a haunting, they can come and ask questions. We have material on anything. Or they can come and listen and find out their own information.
"Even though the subject is taboo in Arkansas, there are paranormal things going on here," Arhangelsky continues. "We want to let people know we're not going to do anything to hurt or jeopardize anyone."
Participants even get a chance to see ghosts with their own eyes. Carroll Heath, a Eureka Springs clairvoyant, leads ghost tours at the Crescent each night, and special investigations are planned for the Crescent and the Basin Park Hotel.
Conference organizers promise a lineup of some of the most respected in the paranormal field:
