THE Steam Museum can be an eerie place at the best of times, with models of passengers and workers and the sounds of station life playing.
But that did not deter the South West Paranormal Group from setting up shop in the museum to look for spooky goings-on.
The Swindon-based organisation headed to the museum on Saturday night because members felt it had the potential for an interesting investigation. As well as the technical experts, medium Sharon Younger was on hand to pick up any vibes.
Paul Moss said: "Prior to the visit our medium was given no idea of where we were going. We just give her a date.
"She has picked up on several things to do with this visit before it happened including that it would involve steam trains."
Co-founder Nick Wright said: "Sharon's usually spot-on when she picks up things before. She sends a text if anything comes up and we just have to reply saying okay' and not giving it away."

The five-hour session involved using infrared cameras to collect electro-magnetic readings and imagery and keeping watch of temperatures with a infra-red thermometer.
Steam is housed in 150-year-old workshops, part of Swindon's railway heritage, which were used until their closure in 1986.
"A lot of history is attached to the place and a lot of people worked here, so there may be residual energy that still exists," said Paul.
"I spoke to staff before we started, but I'm keeping the information from the rest of the team and from the medium, so we will be able to see how it matches up. It's interesting how quiet it is. It was such a heavily industrial workshop."
While the equipment was being set up, Sharon was already picking up information, in addition to the names she had sensed earlier in the week.
She said: "I'm aware of being followed around and I'm getting an energy from a couple of places in here, like a spirit is drawing me to these places."
Steam employee Mark Dodge was on hand to help the group. "Parts of the building are hot and cold for no reason at times," he said. "You get areas were you feel a draft, but there's no window."
