Have you ever wondered what it would be like to explore a "haunted" house after dark? If you've got a computer, Internet access and $15 burning a hole in your pocket, you can take part in a ghost hunt from the comfort of your own home Tuesday evening from 7-11 p.m. And you can even leave the lights on if things get too spooky.
Gulfport's "Ghost Chicks," paranormal investigators Lorrie Jones and Tara Deters, will be wired and fitted with cameras when they enter Jailor's Inn and Talbot's Tavern, two properties in the small Kentucky town of Bardstown, that some residents and ghostbusters claim are home to spirit residents. Internet user can sign on to watch the live video of the pair and their fellow investigator Patti Starr as it is streamed through www.paranormalunderworld.com/bardstown.html.
"The whole thing will be filmed for a documentary," Jones said, "and people online will be able to communicate with us the whole time, so they can say things like "go in here" or "use that equipment" while we are in there."
The Web site will also allow viewers to download live audio recordings and analyze them for "ghost voices" using free EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) software, which Jones says is one of the newest tools in paranormal investigation. EVP recordings were the subject of the 2005 thriller "White Noise" that starred Michael Keaton.
