HOMESTEAD, PA -- Weird, unexplainable things have been happening at a police station in Pennsylvania. The strangest events have happened so often that town has turned to paranormal investigators to check it out.
"The door slamming is one of the biggest things that almost everyone in the
station has heard," said station employee Denise Kelly.
Slamming doors and creaking floors are one thing, but what police officers, staff, even the mayor of Homestead say they've personally witnessed can not be explained away. They say there's even a phantom typist. "About twenty of us were here in a meeting. There was a typewriter on the back wall and the typewriter started to type by itself," said Kelly.
When they turned it on, the backspace appeared to be stuck. Others can't explain the attic door. No matter how many times it's bolted it springs open. Those who work in the building also say they've felt a burst of chilling air through enclosed hallways and old cell blocks. "But there are always noises in this room. He shone his flashlight there, and
that's when he saw the shadow," said Kelly.
The mysterious happenings aren't all inside the borough building. The mayor showed the TV crew a broken sidewalk sweeper that somehow started up last November. There was no key and there was no battery.
"Occasionally we'll sit here and type reports or whatever, and you'll hear the
back door, then footsteps. You'll look back and look out the door, and nobody's
there," said one officer.
A paranormal team will release their report in the coming weeks.
