CARROLL ? Turn out the lights and turn on the television next week for some ghost stories coming straight out of the White Mountains.
The Sci-Fi channel's popular series "Ghost Hunters" will air an episode at 9 p.m. and again at 11 p.m. Wednesday called "Ghostly Conversations," featuring the Mount Washington Hotel.
With a history spanning more than a century, countless tales have unfolded throughout its vast interior of guest rooms, corridors and ballrooms.
It was only a matter of time before the Mount Washington Hotel became a hunting ground for The Atlantic Paranormal Society, a group of paranormal investigators who travel across the country investigating ghost stories.
"Ghost Hunters," including lead TAPS investigators Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes, visited the Mount Washington in February, setting up their state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to conduct an investigation into reports of paranormal activity.
With a dual mission, TAPS aims to debunk the most sensational stories and find scientific explanations, all in search of the truth.
Fred Hollis, who has been in charge of security at the hotel for nearly 20 years, provided an inside tour to "Ghost Hunters" investigators and granted overnight access to certain areas for the purpose of the investigation.
Hollis appears in the episode, and the results of the investigation are reported to him.
