In a previous post on this page, I explored how the stasis of paradigms based on our concepts of reality which arise from the logic of inductive inference, inevitably lead to their collapse , usually in a catastrophic event. The Theory of Catastrophes derived from physics as applied to the natural sciences, can also be applied to paradigms. I received many replies that this observation was unintelligible, absurd and so forth despite the historical evidence that this catastrophic upheaval of paradigms can be seen in the arrival of Cortez being mistaken for the divine appearance of Quezecoatal, the Trojan Horse, and so forth. I applied this stasis of paradigms to the study of the UFO phenomenon, which apparently, in terms of the scientific community, is a dead subject and as a result has a zombie like afterlife
bathed in paranoia, fantasies and political efforts toward an illusive disclosure of a government held library of glittering treasures buried in the compartmentalised vaults of Kafka's Castle.
In the post prior to this, I observed the undercurrent of the spiritual quest enmeshed in the pursuit of the paranormal, which, reflects our own inner questions, regarding who and what we are, as evidenced in the outer, historical world.
I think there is one missing key player in Ufology, which could bring this entire affair into perspective, which combines the basic questions as to the why and wherefore of our existence and indelibly ties this quest to the study of ufology, and would do much to turn around our own misdirected attention back to the subject at hand rather than the earthbound intrigues of conspiracy theory, which, while fascinating, seem to this writer more than abit off topic.
I think this off topic focus on government secrecy is a default of science, specifically in the field of Physics in Quantum Mechanics
Is there a more compelling, living example of vector state field collapse than the ability of these objects to "jump" location in space and time?
Is there a more interesting possibility of the Copenhagen theory of the observer as participant? And...what is the nature of the observer, is the nature of consciousness itself an example of quantum mechanics?...there are very interesting questions such as this evidenced in the field of Ufology...such as probability in empirical statistical data...
Instead, we are stuck so deep in the mud of Roswell, in the dead documents and typeset formats, in believing any old tale, rumor, or theory, unable to admit that we have lost the abilty to discern that not only have we lost the key, we can no longer find the door.
Ufology as we know it, has a zombie like afterlife, unable to navigate the maze of our own making that for all purposes, is a deadend as it is currently constituted and as it is seen through the window of the curio cabinet it has been set aside by science as a refuge for cranks.
All of those interested in Ufology should be forced to read an article published in 1985 in Physics Today by David Mermin, "Is The Moon There When Nobody Looks?: Reality and The Quantum Theory"
So much for Bell's Theorum...and so much for Ufology..
