MACOMB - A Midwest Haunting, a Macomb ghost-hunting tour, has received national attention from one of the largest Web sites in the paranormal business with a feature article on the Haunted America Tours Web site, www.hauntedamericatours.com.
?It?s pretty amazing,? tour owner Tim Weaver said. ?That Web site receives over 400,000 hits a month, so we?re really happy and excited about it.?
The article is a first-person account of how Weaver gained interest in the paranormal, beginning with a strange and unexplained incident when he was young and continuing into his adult years while experiencing problems with self-destruction and the quest for religion.
The Web site features a complete listing of the nation?s most notable haunted tours and includes articles by some of the most reputable authorities on ghosts and other paranormal activity.
?Basically, I sent them information about the tour and they asked me to write a short paragraph, then they just expanded on my ideas a little bit,? Weaver said.
This year?s tour is shaping to be the biggest and best yet in its seven-year history.
Weaver said he?s been getting hundreds of calls from all over the United States from people interested in taking the tour after reading about it on the Web site.
?We included them as a link on our Web site as well, so hopefully we?ll be bouncing some business off each other,? Weaver said.
According to the article, this year?s tour will include visits to the Old Bailey House, the McDonough County Courthouse and the Lamoine Hotel.
Weaver said he?s still in negotiations that might bring hunters to other never-before-explored sites.
Tours for this year run from Friday, Sept. 14 through Saturday, Oct. 27 and will cost $13 per person. Anyone wanting make to reservations, should call A Midwest Haunting, 309-333-4133.
