Ghost hunters are invited to spend the night in a haunted building to raise cash for a bone marrow charity. Health Reporter HELEN RAE takes a look at the spooky fundraiser
THE Anthony Nolan Trust is looking for ghost hunters from the North East to take part in a scary sleepover.
Fearless North East ghost hunters can stay at the infamous Lady Victoria Colliery near Newtongrange, Edinburgh.
On November 21 and 22, people can take part in the fearsome fundraisers with a difference at the former Victorian Colliery, which now houses the Scottish Mining Museum.
Ghost hunters will spend the night at the colliery?s pit head and underground at the coalface, where the spirits of Mungo Mackay ? the much-feared general manager of the Lothian Coal Company ? and Jock Kane the headless miner are thought to still haunt the mine.
Celebrity medium Simon Bacon, tutor at the College of Psychic Studies in London and star of the Edinburgh Ghost Watch, will host the event.
Allan Johnston of the Anthony Nolan Trust, said: ?This is a unique chance to raise funds to help us take back lives from leukaemia and take part in an overnight investigation with an exclusive Ghost and History Tour.
?We will use ghost-hunting and psychic equipment as well as being joined by Simon Bacon and experienced paranormal investigators who will use their knowledge and experience to ensure that you have an entertaining night.?
There are only 48 places available on each night of the Spooky Sleepover and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The Anthony Nolan Trust helps those living with leukaemia by managing and recruiting new donors to the UK?s most successful bone marrow register.
The trust also conducts pioneering research into the treatment of bone marrow disorders and improving the effectiveness of bone marrow transplants.
