I was wondering if anyone here has had a chance to use one of these devices or knows someone who has and if so what are your thoughts on it?

Do they work or are they just another gimmick?

I would like to hear some feedback on this one.

Although this item is not available in Canada, you can have this shipped to the UPS store in the US and then just drive over and pick it up. So if you live close enough to the border this is an option for those who wish to purchase it.

I have not personally used the Ovilus but have used what is called the Spirit Box with very good results. This item is available through Ebay and elsewhere online. This item is much cheaper with it only being about $70 US. You can also purchase the unmodified radio for even cheaper ($25 US) with instructions on how to modify it available on Youtube.

You cannot order to a UPS nor are their any other ways of manipulating the system.You cannot get one unless you are an American and there are strict stipulations IN THE CONTRACT.It can only be ordered to an American address using an American Credit Card AND THE ADDRESS MUST MATCH THE CREDIT CARD!!!......Contact the Manufacturer for proof!!

Also this is the Ovilus 1....not the crappy radio on EBAY that anyone can make!!......THERE WOULD LIKELY BE A HUGE LAWSUIT FROM THE MANUFACTURER IF ANYONE TRIED TO SELL ONE OF THESE ON EBAY DUE TO BREACH OF CONTRACT.....UNLESS YOU KNOW AN AMERICAN WITH BALLS...YOU CANNOT GET ONE OF THESE UNITS.

I didn't make this up, I actually know people who order stuff this way from the States all of the time. As for address etc., you are giving them the address of where it is to be sent. There is no need to give them your home address as it is not being shipped there. How would they know if it matches or not? So I am unsure where you got your information from but as I said I know people who do this all of the time with no problem.

Also, if you purchase something you can resell it to whoever you wish. I don't know what "contract" you are referring to. If there was such a contract when purchasing this item as you say there is then you wouldn't be legally able to resell this item on here or anywhere else.

Hmmmm I must be retarded as it seems that I cant find anything about strict stipulations in regards to shipping outside of the USA.. or any sign of a strict contract listed on the manufacturers site.

BUT.... ( not that im a rocket scientist or anything.. Im just a poor computer and laptop technician ) Since a Canadian can obtain a postal address within the USA in the ways of redirection addresses , PO Boxes or even at the UPS store and since the USA is so great at having GIFT visa and mastercards which can then be associated with that USA address... there is NO reason as to why ANYONE would be stupid enough to pay $300 for something they can obtain much cheaper. Also since the internet reaches outside the small community in which we dwell, Im sure many people have friends, relatives that reside within the USA... Just my two cents worth.

On the other hand ... If you get your $ 300 for the Ovilus 1 maybe you want to buy my KII meter thats modified for $250. It cant be brought in Canada either and on their site they have a disclaimer that it can only be brought by Aliens wearing tin foil hats.

I must admit this topic was kinda good for a laugh for all of 5 seconds.
