Season seven of the Travel Channel’s wildly popular “Ghost Adventures” premiered Friday, Sept. 21 and is well underway. Having already investigated the Excalibur Nightclub in Chicago, IL and the Tor House in Carmel, CA in the first two high-octane episodes, Lead Investigator Zak Bagans promises more technological fireworks in the episodes to come.
“We've got all kinds of new stuff, so we're constantly evolving just like technology is,” Bagans says when asked about new tech gear on the upcoming season.
“We are also updating ourselves constantly,” Bagans says, which he thinks is helping them to connect with the paranormal since the evidence they’re after involves various forms of energy. Bagans believes that modern technology is advancing paranormal research by allowing investigators to observe these energy anomalies. “I think back in the day we weren't advanced enough in the technology department to tap into those frequencies.”
Gone are the days when paranormal investigators shuffled down dark hallways brandishing incandescent flashlights and simple voice recorders. New gadgets that will premier in season seven include a “3-D Kinect Motion Tracking System”, which tracks and captures images of manifesting spirits, new shadow detectors, and new full-spectrum cameras.
“We're trying to keep up with all these new awesome technologies and cell phones and iPads and everything like that,” Bagans says. “You know, they're not the only ones benefiting from the evolution of technology.”
Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin will have many chances to test their new ghost hunting gadgets as their adventures take them to the Palmer House Hotel in Sauk Centre, MN, the Black Moon Manor in Greenfield, IN, the Point Sur Lighthouse in Big Sur, CA, and the Sedamsville Rectory in Cincinnati, OH. Episodes air Friday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern on the Travel Channel.
