Smell of burnt toast

About a week ago I woke up to the smell of burnt toast in my bedroom. The smell was fairly strong and lingered for a little bit before dissipating. Then the next night it happened again to me. Same scenerio, I woke up to smelling it in my room.

Then last night just as I was about to close the downstairs door to walk upstairs to my bedroom I heard someone say my name. I'm not sure if it was female or that of a young boy. So I laid down in bed and was having some problems getting the tv in there seemed to be a lot of interference happening with the wireless satellite receiver. I kept getting up to try and fix it and laid back down again. Then the ceiling fan above my bed made a strange noise, slowly came to a stop and now it doesn't work at all!All of this has me a bit puzzled. I have had some experiences with smelling different things but burnt toast is a new one for me and as for my name being called and the ceiling fan dying, well this is making me wonder if something was trying to get my attention. Anyone have any comments regarding this? or about the smell i experienced?

THis is very curious. Burnt toast is strange indeed. For some reason I vaguely remember smelling this on rare occasions but nothing else proceed the experience. Hope someone has some ideas for you

The only thing I have ever heard associated with burnt toast was seizures, and I have never had those in my life. Other than that tho, it has me stumpled. So far I have not experienced anything else since then but will keep everyone posted should anything else happens.

Have you had an electrician look at the fan? The calling of your name and the smell of burnt toast could have been someone trying to get your attention to keep you from having a potential fire.

I've not heard anything regarding burnt toast and seizures but I do know that they will sometimes give you highly sugared tea and butterless burnt toast in the hospital after some outpatient surgeries to fight nausea.

We get the smell of cigerettes, cigars and pipe tobacco in our house, and we put this down to the house being an ex railway property.

We also hear things in the kitchen and sometimes at night the clothes drier starts going, when no one has programmed it to do so.

Maybe you smell toast in just the same. Buildings hold an event that has happened in their past, just like a tape recorder holds the voice, sounds or events, recorded onto its tape through its tape heads.
