BERMUDA Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is an area where ships and aircraft have disappeared under unusual circumstances.
It?s also the theme of Star Movies' latest exclusive series The Triangle, from the brilliant minds behind blockbusters such as Superman Returns, Independence Day and sci-fi favourite Farscape.
The Triangle is based on a story created by Bryan Singer and Dean Devlin, which is later developed into the screenplay by Rockne S. O?Bannon. All three serve as The Triangle?s executive producers.
The series features stars such as Eric Stoltz, Catherine Bell, Bruce Davison, Lou Diamond Phillips and Sam Neill.
In The Triangle, billionaire Eric Benerall (Neill) is losing his cargo ships and their crews at a frightening pace, and he wants answers. Benerall commissions a diverse team of experts, all of whom will be handsomely rewarded should they get to the bottom of this legendary anomaly.
His handpicked team features sceptic and Florida-based tabloid journalist Howard Thomas (Stoltz), deep ocean resource engineer Emily Patterson (Bell), meteorologist/adventurer Bruce Gellar (Michael Rodgers) and psychic Stan Latham (Davison).
Pulled together with the promise of limitless funding for their research and the chance for one-in-a-lifetime riches, the team sets out to solve the most daunting of puzzles.
Deepening the mystery is Meeno Paloma?s (Phillips) first-hand encounter with the deadly forces at work in the Bermuda Triangle. The lone survivor of a Greenpeace expedition lost at sea, Paloma is having difficulty readjusting to the life he had before that fateful expedition.
Thomas takes an immediate interest in Paloma's sensational story, and its inexplicable aftermath. Paloma is a crucial resource in the team?s quest for the truth. Will he self-destruct before the team can help him realise his true purpose?
Hooked yet? You too can discover the truth behind The Triangle. Watch the first collaboration between filmmaking talents Singer and Devlin on Star Movies (Astro channel 42) every Saturday at 10pm beginning this week.
