Can "time windows" into other worlds be opened and let us view scenes from the past or future?
This is the story of Leonard Hall, who for a brief moment saw glimpses of past events that happened 400 hundred years ago.
Did a "time window" accidentally open in front of him?
In 1941, Leonard Hall and his friends went on a fishing trip on Missouri's crystal-clear Upper Current River. They set up a camp close to the beautiful Ozark Mountains. During the day, they went fishing and in the night, they slept in their tents. It was an ideal vacation. Then one early morning, at the dawn, unfamiliar voices woke Leonard Hall.
He assumed someone must have set up a camp in the vicinity and went out to find out what was happening outside. To his surprise, he noticed that someone had built a small fire about 100 feet from his and his friends' tents.
When Leonard Hall glanced to left, he saw more fires along the river and a small group of people. Hall had a feeling there was something strange about these people. They looked as if they came from somewhere else. They simply did not belong there.
It was difficult to hear what they were actually saying, but Hall noticed some of them spoke broken Spanish. Among them were several Indians dressed in traditional clothing.
As he watched the people standing at the river and listened to their voices, the image was slowly fading away.
A couple of minutes later, there was no fire, and the people and the voices were gone.
Leonard Hall stood for along while at the spot, trying to come to terms with what he had just seen. Did he imagine everything? Was it a dream? But he was awake and his mind was clear.
He went to his friends and told them his story. Together they all walked to the place where Hall heard the voices and saw the people, but nothing was there. There were no signs of recent fire. The place was empty.
His friends explained to him that he must have been tired and his imagination had played a trick on him.
When Hall returned home he could not forget the event and decided to visit the local library. Perhaps an answer or a clue could be found in one of history books. He searched through the archives and finally found what he was looking for, a possible solution to the mysterious incident he recently experienced.
In one of the books, he discovered an old document from which he learned something that surprised him. The document described how a small group of Spanish conquistadors led by the Dominican priest Domingo de Soto (1494-1560) were camping near the Upper Current River. The Spaniards were accompanied by Indians, who acted as their servants.
This event occurred 400 years ago, in August 1541!
Occasionally, it has happened that "time windows" open and let us view events, which occurred in the past. This is an unexplained and fascinating phenomenon.
There are many things which cannot be accected and fully understood by our minds even if they are true. If there is no absolute present, then it is possible to observe past events in this reality. This might even be possible without the use of any instruments. Present is built on the past. So, the past cannot be unreal because our reality cannot emerge out of unreality.
N.A. Mozorov, a revolutionary Russian scientist, once said: "If instead of being drifted towards unknown horizons by the uniform current of Time we could travel on it - into the past or the future as we chose, then Time would appear only as a dimension, exactly as height, depth or thickness."
This leads us back to the question: Did Leonard Hall accidentally stumble upon a "time window"?
