GHOSTS and ghouls at The White Hart Pub in Pulborough will help to raise cash for Horsham based wildlife charity Born Free.
The event was organised by mediums Shane and Andrew Gadd and ghost hunter Heddwen Ede.
The local ghost busters will hunt in and around the grounds of the 14th century building for spirits believed to have roamed the pub for several years.
But landlord, Jerry Blay, 34, is unfazed by his creepy tenants. He said: "I've had several ghostly experiences in the pub. There have been lots of odd things, such as lights going off, things falling off of shelves and the gas on the Arga being turned off.
"It hasn't really scared me - most of the things that have happened have been friendly enough.
"There have been a few sightings, too, but I don't want to give too much away because I don't want the mediums to know anything about the pub's history before they start the hunt.
"There has been an overwhelming response to the event and it should be a lot of fun."
The event will provide an opportunity for brave punters to take part in physical circles and try to make contact with the other side.
The mediums will also talk about the haunted world.
The event is part of Linda Rusby's fundraising for Born Free, based in Foundry Lane, Horsham, a charity dedicated to saving local wildlife and preventing animal crueulty.
The event will be held at The White Hart Public House on Stopham Road, Pulborough on Friday April 13 at 8.30pm to 2am. For bookings please phone Shane Gadd on 01293 571987 or Andrew Gadd on 01903 751106.
